(If your opponent is using Mind, or it is a Social challenge for you.) (-1) Attack: Haunted Gaze (Soul) - The target is struck by the profound emptiness that haunts your gaze. He/she is moved to pity, and may not participate in or initiate any combat against you for the remainder of the session. (-2) Ability: Startled Recognition [mind] (Mind vs. Soul Challenge) - Choose one: ask the target whether he/she has the "Dark," "Bloody," or "Murky" Trait. Once per target per session. (-1 per use) One Use: Black Gaze [one use] (Requires Mind Or Soul Combat) - When you have succeeded as a main participant in Mind or Soul combat, you may activate this Ability instead of using an Attack. The target, overcome by the maddening gaze of the Black Lake, will receive the "Touched By The Black Lake" Office between sessions. Notify a GM when possible. (-1) Recovery: Drawn To The Dark Waters - You may use the Recoveries of the Black Lake Location once per hour instead of once per session. (-1 per level) Influence: Horror (-1) Modifier: Horror -> Things Better Left Unspoken - You may expend a point of Influence: Horror to gain +3 in any Ability challenge in which you are trying to prevent someone from finding out something about you. (If successful, the target is too overcome by the fear and urgency evident on your demeanor to continue investigating.) Multiple expenditures stack. (1* per level) Flaw: Creeping Madness - After you have set your Motivations for a session, you must bring them to the GMs, who may make certain alterations to them. The severity and deleteriousness of these alterations depends on your level of Creeping Madness.
